About
Who?
This website was set up by someone just like you ... someone who sat on their sofa, in the comfort of their own home, watching the news and seeing our troops risking and losing their lives ... day in and day out ... who wanted a way to say thank you.
We Are Grateful is not a political organisation or a charity.
What?
This site is intended for people to express their thanks and support for the armed forces. We will make every effort to ensure that no political, slanderous or offensive material content is published. If you find any messages that you feel are unsuitable, please click the "Report inappropriate content" link on the message.
How you can help
Post up your message, and keep coming back to post up a message every time you think of the forces or hear about an incident.
Spread the word. As well as posting up your message, please forward the link to all your friends and family and ask them to post up a message.
And do support the charities.
We have tried to contact as many charities related to the armed forces as possible to represent them on this site. If we have missed out a charity, .
Why?
Because it needs saying.
Our troops not only deserve our thanks and appreciation for the services and sacrifices they make, but they deserve to see it spelt out by all and everyone of us.
And it will make a difference. Here is what a Commanding Officer in the British Army has to say about it:
I suspect that many individuals out there ... share your support. What you have done really is quite moving, and it has certainly touched me at a time that I have a lot of my very brave young soldiers out there, achieving extraordinary things, with limited recognition, and few expectations of thanks. I'm heading out there again myself in a fortnight - but only for a short trip - and will be sure to inform them about this website, so that they do receive the thanks they so definitely deserve.
